National Entitlement Card Scheme

If you are over 60 or meet the disability criteria you are entitled to free bus travel anywhere in Scotland with a valid National Entitlement Card (bus pass).

If you are aged between 5 and 21 then from 31st January 2022 you are entitled to free bus travel anywhere in Scotland under the Free Bus Travel for Under 22s Scheme.

If you are a full time volunteer aged 22-25 you are entitled to 1/3 off adult bus travel anywhere in Scotland with a Young Scot Card (Young Scot cards also provide access to discounted rail travel in Scotland).

Shetland residents with a valid National Entitlement Card/Young Scot Card receive 4 Northlink Ferry Vouchers valid for travel April to March each year.

Check if you are eligible for a National Entitlement Card.

It is important to inform SIC Transport Planning of any change in address to ensure receipt of ferry vouchers.

ZetTrans Top Up Cards

Passengers regularly travelling by bus can purchase a top up card to give them a 20% discount on normal adult fares.

Cards can be purchased and loaded with money onboard any bus to allow travel without the need to carry cash.

Children

Children up to 5 years travel free on local bus services.

Children aged 5 years to 16 years travel for half of the adult fare on local bus services.
